Telepathy is the transfer of information, such as thoughts or feelings, between two individuals by means other than the five senses.

Telepaths have the ability to read the thoughts of another person. This usually only works on the thoughts a person is having at that moment. This was the case with the triad, who had to pose questions to Helen Magnus in order to read her thought responses.[1] Merfolk also have telepathic abilities.[2]

Empaths have the ability to read the feelings of other people. For example, Sophie was able to sense the nubbins fear of the nubbin predator as well as their dislike of the cold.[3]
