Sophie is an abnormal human woman with an empathic ability. She is the granddaughter of Maurice Macrae, from whom her ability derives from through genetic inheritance.

| Episode 1x06 - "Nubbins": After Sophie's grandfather Maurice Macrae dies, a legal request is sent to Helen Magnus to perform an autopsy on his body as stipulated in Maurice's will; this is due to Maurice's strong belief that he was an abnormal. Magnus accepts the request, and Sophie accompanies her grandfather's body to the Old City Sanctuary. While at the Sanctuary, Sophie begins to sense what the other inhabitants of the Sanctuary were feeling. Due to this, Sophie becomes upset as she knows that the truth of the facility is intentionally being hidden from her. As a result, Magnus agrees to have Will Zimmerman give her a full tour of the building, including the normally off-limits lower levels to regular normal human guests. |

- Casting / Trivia: Katharine Isabelle guest starred in Episode 1x06 - "Nubbins" as Sophie. While filming her scenes, Isabelle complained of a dry eye problem, which kept making her almost tear up. However, it ended up being beneficial for her portrayal of her character.[3]
