Roy Halladay was an American professional baseball pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays (1998-2009 : 12 seasons) and the Philadelphia Phillies (2010-2013 : 4 seasons) for a total of 16 seasons before retiring at the end of 2013 due to injury.[1] [2]

- Status: The character Roy Halladay is based on a real-life pitcher. Roy was alive at the time he was mentioned in Sanctuary; the in universe date of the episode occurred around early-mid 2011. The actual person died over six years later from a plane crash on November 7th, 2017.
- Trivia: Roy Halladay played for the Toronto Blue Jays, Will Zimmerman's favorite baseball team. In 2011, Roy was playing in his second season with the Philadelphia Phillies when Will received his gifted signed baseball.
