FROM REVELATIONS PART 1

JOHN
The war has begun.

CABAL DOCTOR
Abnormals are showing rapid onset of clinical paranoia and extreme aggression.

HELEN
Pitting humans against abnormals, deciding who lives or dies. The Cabal must be stopped. It's why I started this mission a century ago.

WILL
Dr Watson? Not as in James Watson, who's a member of The Five?

WATSON
Why you here, Druitt?

JOHN
To save the world; and time allowing, to reassert my superiority.

HELEN
'Nigel Griffin is dead but his powers passed on to his granddaughter, Clara.

HELEN
We only have days to stop the destruction of every abnormal on Earth.

HELEN
It may well be the Source blood could stop the disease in the form of a synthesized antitoxin.

WILL
Where did Gregory hide the vial?

WATSON
The lost city of Bhalasaam, in the Himalayas.

HELEN
And he made sure that only we five, acting in concert, can retrieve it.

JOHN
Which is a bit of a problem if, in fact, I have killed Tesla.

FROM THE FIVE

JOHN
Ah Nikola.

FROM REVELATIONS PART 1

HELEN
It's all been destroyed.

WATSON
It’s over.

HELEN
There has to be a way into the labyrinth.

DANA
Your mother and her colleagues will try to stop us. I promise you they'll fail. They'll fail because you're going to help us complete our plan.

INT CABAL BUILDING

[Ashley is seated on a high stool on a platform which has electricity running through it. Dana is standing across from Ashley.]

ASHLEY
Where's Henry?

DANA
Not far.

ASHLEY
If you hurt him, I swear I will...

DANA Oh, we will hurt him. In fact, the quality and quantity of what remains of his life very much depends on you.

ASHLEY
I’ll tell you whatever you want just let Henry live.

DANA You think we are, killers, murderers?

ASHLEY
That bio weapon you set off; not exactly charity work!

DANA
In fact that's exactly what it is. A helping hand to the humans, so that they can clearly see the threat to the survival of our species.

ASHLEY
You're starting a war.

DANA
We're controlling our destiny.

ASHLEY
Most of the abnormals are peaceful they aren’t a threat.

DANA
Every Abnormal we don’t control is a threat, Ashley, despite your mother's propaganda. How many so-called peaceful abnormals have you destroyed? You know, I like your mother. There was a time I even admired her. But we're fighting for humanity's survival and she's chosen the wrong side. Are you ready to choose yours?

EXT SITE OF CITY OF BHALASAAM

CLARA
Where's the amazing lost city; the temples, the archives, a decent rest room?

HELEN
It's gone, destroyed long ago.

WILL
By the age of this vegetation, I'd say, 50, 60 years?

WATSON
One hundred years, if the growth pattern of this Hedera is any indication.

JOHN
Destroyed how?

WILL
It looks like some sort of massive bombing. It couldn't have been from the air though; there were no planes that could carry that ordnance 100 years ago.

WATSON
Four days of constant bombardment, hundreds of men, and heaviest weaponry. Cannon placements there and there, long and short range; likely a combined effort with Russian, French and Spanish forces.

WILL
I thought by that point in history all the vampires were wiped out.

HELEN
They were. They retreated here to preserve what was left of their culture. They’d been culled to within a hairs breath of extinction. They weren't a threat to anyone. This was a slaughter.

WILL
Gregory's instructions mentioned a hall of records as a starting point.

JOHN
They also mentioned a city, fully intact. For all we know, the caverns below have been destroyed as well.

WATSON
So then John, are you suggesting we just give up?

JOHN
Oh, don't bait me. I'm not in the mood.

WATSON
Perhaps if we were looking for some nubile lady of the night for you to slaughter, then you'd suddenly perk up and become incredibly helpful!

HELEN
Gentlemen, enough!

JOHN
Good work ole boy, another test of my loyalty.

WATSON
Just checking.

INT CABAL BUILDING

[Henry is strapped to a chair and doctors are all around him. They are taking blood and monitoring varies equipment.]

HENRY
Ah!

[GRUNTS WITH PAIN]

HENRY
What do you want from me? Talk to me!

DOCTOR
How long have you known of your condition?

HENRY
It's not a condition.

DOCTOR
Do you know the exact geographical region where you were found? What kind of treatments has Dr. Magnus prescribed? Can you elaborate on their effectiveness, length of transformative episodes?

HENRY
What are you doing? What are you doing? What are you doing? Don't! Don’t! Aarrgh!

DOCTOR
Sh, sh. We simply want to help you get better.

HENRY
I'm not sick! This is not a condition!

DOCTOR
You are a class nine, hyper-accelerated protean life form; fairly rare. As is the control you seem to possess over mutative stress triggers.

HENRY
Please, you do not want to make that happen.

DOCTOR
(CHUCKLES) On the contrary, we very much do, although I can understand why you would resist.

HENRY (GROANS)
I am not ashamed of who I am.

DOCTOR
I certainly hope not because we intend to bring out your alter ego permanently.
The knowledge we gain will be invaluable. You kind have been hiding in the shadows for far too long, Mr. Foss. We're going to bring you out into the light.

EXT SITE OF CITY OF BHALASAAM

[Helen, Clara, Will, and James are looking around. John teleports in.]

HELEN
Anything?

JOHN
Nothing for miles. No other entrances to the mountain.

HELEN
It'll be dark soon. We should head back and start fresh tomorrow.

WATSON
No, no, no, you go.

WILL
Yeah, I'm staying too.

WATSON
Something has to set a sense of...

WILL
…Scale. Yeah, exactly.

[Will and Watson are studying the site. Will is comparing the drawing of the city with the area around him.]

WILL
There.

HELEN What?

WILL
Well, I know it's from a distance but the location of this central ziggurat should be that area there.

[Will gets up form the rock he was seated on and shows it to Watson and points to the area he is referring to.]

WATSON
Assuming the city was built around it, absolutely.

WILL
So the hall of records is located...

WATSON
…Twenty-seven meters southeast of our current position. This is the main thoroughfare, the central meeting hall, that's the wall defenses and the hall of records. Ach! It took me a while to locate the right markers.

WILL
Wow, you totally got that. You saw everything.

WATSON
Oh very clearly Will, very clearly.

JOHN
Well, then. Let's have at it.

[They start to move off in the direct Will and James indicated.]

WILL
Time, you factored in time, shifting architectural patterns as the city grew.

WATSON
Time is a constant, Will. All visual clues have to be measured against multiple parameters, time often being the most telling.

WILL
Like another dimension.

WATSON
Yeah, it's just one of many and once you understand the way they interact, you will find very few mysteries will confound you.

WILL
Man that is killer stuff.

WATSON Yes, I've always thought so.

EXT FORMER SITE OF HALL OF RECORDS

[John and Will are removing a pile of rocks blocking the entrance.]

HELEN
Are you certain?

WILL Yeah, should be the main foyer for the hall for records.

HELEN
My father's instructions mentioned a passageway leading to subterranean caverns below.

JOHN
We have no idea what the original interior of this building looked like, let alone where an access point may be.

[John pushes in on the rocks and they give way to create a small entrance. Helen retrieves a flashlight from her pack and moves forward to look into the hole.]

HELEN
Well done.

WILL
I'm seriously geeking out right now.

WATSON
As am I.

INT HALL OF RECORDS

[The team has entered the Hall of Records and found the stairs leading down to the caverns.]

WILL
Why would the vampires build a cavern beneath a hidden city? Seems kind of redundant, don't you think?

HELEN
Well even though they were the rulers, the overlords? They advanced civilization by centuries. Their knowledge, their technology, was far more advanced than anyone could've imagined back then.

JOHN
So they kept their secrets well hidden.

WATSON
Well, they knew the world would turn against them, John. (COUGHS) They would have calculated for the possibility that Bhalasaam might one day be found and pillaged.

TESLA
…Lest their wealth of knowledge fall into the wrong hands.

[Tesla steps out from a doorway.]

TESLA
Miss me?

[John starts to advance on Tesla.]

HELEN
John!

[John stops as Watson restrains him by his shoulder. John glares at Tesla.]

JOHN
Oh, I know he's difficult to kill but I'm sure there are ways.

TESLA
Is that before or after you retrieve the blood? Because, frankly, good luck with that if I'm dead. You know, you can't do it without me. Nice move last time we met, Johnny.

[Tesla cracks his neck.]

TESLA
Mm…took me a while to get over it.

JOHN
Not long enough, old boy. Care for another helping?

HELEN
What are you doing here, Nikola?

[Tesla sighs]

TESLA
Isn't it obvious? The Cabal want to turn the world into a war zone, only the ancient blood can stop it. Yes, I do keep abreast of current events thank you.

WATSON
Yet you didn't answer our communiqués.

TESLA
My dear James, you're looking older. Feeling your age?

WATSON
Ever the gentleman, I see.

TESLA
And what have we here?

[Tesla looks at Will and Clara.]

TESLA
I’m guessing that one of you must be a blood relative of Nigel Griffin otherwise why would you even be brought along. I hope you're up to the task.

CLARA
Damn straight I am, skinny.

TESLA
You, I like. You, I don't know.

WILL
I'm Dr Zimmerman, I work with Dr Magnus.

TESLA
Protégé, well the mission's necessary disposable item.

HELEN
Stop this, Nikola. You know what we're facing, why not make contact?

TESLA
Firstly, I prefer to work alone. Secondly, I don't trust any of you any more than you trust me. That’s why I skipped the orientation.

WATSON
How did you get down here?

TESLA
There's another entrance far side of the mountain; just have to know where to look for it, which I do. Now, follow me.

[Tesla leads them down the cavern.]

TESLA
Ah! Magnificent, isn't it? All that remains of my ancestors, their work. Ten thousand years of knowledge and power hidden from the world.

HELEN
You've been coming here for decades, haven't you? This is where you got the idea to revive vampires as a race.

[Tesla stops and turns to face them.]

TESLA
Your father, he did his job well. Despite my best efforts, we can only retrieve the blood as one. None of us can do it alone.

JOHN
Tell me, Nikola, if we do succeed, will you allow us to take it away? We know you have wonderful designs for it, an army of new-born vampires being just the start.

TESLA
I may want to see my ancestors reborn but that can't happen if the abnormals become a global threat to humans. None of us could withstand the chaos that that would bring. OK? But tell me, John, are the rest of us to trust you once all is said and done? You, who once put your own daughter in harm's way for just a drop of Helen's blood. Oh, yes having that vial all to your self would solve your health problems for a long time, wouldn't it?

HELEN
Gentlemen, we are here for a reason. Nikola, lives are at stake.

TESLA
This way.

WATSON
John.

[Watson holds out his arm asking for assistance from John. John walks over to Watson and permits him to use his shoulder.]

WATSON
Thank you.

CLARA
What the hell was that all about?

WILL
Well, the guy who invented radio just dissed Jack the Ripper.

INT CABAL BUILDING

ASHLEY
What are you doing, Dana? You haven't asked me one real question yet.

[One of the cabal men has brought Dana an energy drink.]

DANA
We have a lot more to discuss, so, please.

[Dana throws the can to Ashley who eyes it suspiciously.]

DANA
Ashley if I wanted you dead there'd be more effective ways than a poisoned drink.

ASHLEY
I want to see Henry, now!

DANA
I assure you he's fine.

[Dana walks to a monitor and turns it on. The monitor is showing Henry strapped to the chair unconscious.]

DANA
Satisfied?

[Ashley opens the can and takes a drink.]

DANA
Thank you. I'd like to keep you alert and co-operative.

ASHLEY
Well, one out of two ain't bad. If you put a truth serum in this, trust me I will do a tap routine on this floor rather than tell you anything.

DANA
To tell you the truth, I'm a terrible poker player. I never bluff. As for what we want, information's not the only thing. Not when you have so much more to offer us.

INT CABAL BUILDING

[Henry is screaming in pain. He begins to transform into the werewolf but he doesn’t completely transform.]

HENRY
It won't work.

DOCTOR
You've been off your medication for almost a day. The safeguards have left your system. The pain will end when you stop resisting the change to your natural state.

HENRY
No. If I change you'll kill me.

DOCTOR
True. But we'll have learned so much in the process. Henry, this will be a noble end for you. Think of it as an organ donation after your death. What we learn from your alter ego may eventually save lives. Another 10cc.

HENRY
No, no, don't. No!

INT CAVERNS BENEATH THE CITY OF BHALASAAM

CLARA
This place goes on forever.

HELEN
It's a labyrinth. It's designed to keep valuable secrets from those who would steal them.

TESLA
Was that aimed at me?

HELEN
Yes.

[They have come to a room with a pedestal in the center of the room. There is a star pentagon and roman numerals on the pedestal.]

WILL
Some sort of a numeric code?

HELEN
My mother's birthday.

[Helen enters the numbers.]

HELEN
My father's favorite password.

[The center of the pedestal rises up and a scroll is inside. Helen takes the scroll and opens it.]

HELEN
It's his handwriting.

WILL
Latin?

HELEN
His favorite language.

WATSON
It’s a caveat addressed to all five of us. It’s a warning; the blood should only be sought by all of us or not at all

HELEN
…And only for altruistic reasons.

TESLA
Well, saving civilization from chaos and war seems worthy but he's your father.

HELEN
It's a map of the labyrinth.

WILL
Look, there's five notations here.

WATSON
Five tests, each has one of our names beside it.

CLARA
What kind of tests?

TESLA
They designed specifically for each of our gifts, impenetrable to anyone else.

HELEN
My father knew that in order to prevent anyone of us from trying to access the blood alone, he had to use the technology the vampires left behind to safeguard their secrets.

WILL
And even you couldn’t find a way around it.

TESLA I know, nervous yet?

WATSON
At the end of each test there's a key. Once we have the five keys...

HELEN
We can access the vial. My father loved the metaphor of keys he saw them as symbols for the unlocking of secrets.

JOHN
We can assume none of these tasks will be simple and easy.

HELEN
Knowing my father, absolutely. May I?

WATSON
Oh, yes.

HELEN
Will, take Clara to Griffin's test, that's here.

[Helen points to a passageway.]

HELEN
Watson, yours and John's markers are close together. I know, work as a team. We'll meet back here with our keys.

JOHN
That leaves you and Nikola; your tests are marked for the same area?

TESLA
I guess your father liked us best as a couple.

JOHN
Helen, if you can wait I’ll...

HELEN
I'll be fine.

TESLA
Such chivalry.

JOHN
If any harm comes to her, accidental or otherwise...

TESLA
I have no reason to do her any harm but you; I'm finding more reasons by the minute.

HELEN
Honestly! I'm surrounded by adolescents!

[John and Tesla glare at each other but then Tesla moves off.]

WILL
Let's go.

[Each pair moves down their passageway.]

WATSON
It seems we go down this way.

[Will and Clara come to a room with sunlight streaming down to the floor.]

WILL
This room was marked Griffin.

CLARA
It doesn't seem so bad. Whoa!

[As Clara steps out into the sunlight, she casts a shadow onto the floor. The room shakes and part of the floor falls away. Will pulls Clara back. The shaking stops.]

CLARA
OK, this is bad.

INT CAVERNS, JOHN AND WATSON’S PASSAGEWAY

JOHN
Now, I believe this is our stop.

[They come to a junction with two doors with writing above them.]

WATSON
Two Latin inscriptions almost identical in meaning.

JOHN
Almost.

WATSON
True lies, lies truth; a slightly different turn of phrase.

[John tries to lift the heavy doors.]

JOHN
Both doors have apparently no means of opening them and yet behind each of these doors lies our keys. Logically…

WATSON
Logically, both our names were set for these doors, which implies that Gregory intended for us to work together.

JOHN
Mm. So we cannot retrieve one without the other.

WATSON
Hmm, putting the analytical genius and the cold-blooded killer in the same place; there must be a reason beyond cruel irony.

JOHN
When he designed this he knew us as friends, James, not as enemies. It was before I...

WATSON
Indeed, yes, yes.

JOHN
Doors that won't open yet their shape suggests something exists beyond; a chamber, perhaps.

JOHN
Which I alone could access, but which door do we believe? Hmm…perhaps both, neither?

WATSON
I don't know but I'm convinced of one thing. If we choose wrongly and you teleport behind the wrong door, I'm sure you will find solid rock.

JOHN
Well then, you'd best choose carefully...old friend.

INT PASSAGE GRIFFIN’S ROOM

[Kneeling down, Will puts his hand out blocking the sun and casting a shadow on the floor. The room shakes so he pulls it back.]

CLARA
This is insane.

WILL
No, no, it makes sense. Whenever light reflects off anything visible we lose ground.

CLARA
Yeah, literally.

WILL OK. So all you have to do is make it from here to there without casting a shadow and we’ll get the key. You can do this.

CLARA
No, I can't.

WILL
Clara, this is adrenaline triggering anxiety in your brain. You’ve got to take the focus off yourself; forget about everything else except for the goal.

CLARA
Yeah? How?

WILL
Well how did you focus when you used to steal?

CLARA
I'd, ah, picture the store clerk naked. It helped me not feel so...

WILL
…Vulnerable. Perfect. So just picture me naked.

CLARA
It's not working.

WILL
Clara you've done this a thousand times.

CLARA
We're in a labyrinth, Will, in the Himalayas. I am going to die here.

WILL
OK, look at me. What can I do to help?

CLARA
Well, if I have to do it, so should you.

[Clara starts to undress.]

WILL
What? But people can see me. You can see me, that's not fair.
I shouldn't have to...

[Will begins to undress.]

WILL
OK, fine. This is ridiculous.

[Will has stripped down to his boxers.]

WILL
Satisfied?

[He turns around and doesn’t see Clara.]

WILL
Clara?

CLARA
Don't drop my clothes.

[Clara hands Will a pile of clothes. Will drops her bra.]

WILL
Sorry.

INT CAVERNS TESLA ROOM

[Tesla comes to a long corridor with a pedestal at the end of it.]

HELEN
Ah, your test.

TESLA
Yeah.

HELEN
You tried to steal the blood once before; that means you've done the test.

TESLA
No, I tried to steal it. I never succeeded in getting the key.

HELEN
You're afraid.

TESLA
Your father managed to rig this tunnel here with a massive geomagnetic current, voltage derived directly from the earth. Do you have any idea who much electricity that is?

HELEN
He knew you were hard to kill.

TESLA
Well, this might just do it.

[Tesla takes a few steps back and then quickly walks forward into the tunnel. Tesla struggles to the end of the corridor against the electricity.]

INT CABAL BUILDING

[Henry is now in a cell with no windows except in a door. He starts to transform into the werewolf and lunges at the door forcing it open.]

HENRY
Awesome.

INT CAVERNS TESLA ROOM

[Tesla collapses to his knees and removes the key from the pedestal. He starts to walk back and is met with the electricity again.]

TESLA
Your father really didn't like me, did he?

HELEN
You're an acquired taste.

TESLA
Uh-huh.

[Tesla walks into the corridor.]

INT CAVERNS OUTSIDE JOHN AND WATSON’S ROOM

WATSON
The seventh girl you murdered, April 1888. They found her body under a bridge near Wapping. Why move her from Whitechapel? It's tormented me. But why taint your calling card? Why change the rules? I remember, I asked your opinion at the time over brandies at the Reform Club and you said, "Perhaps the old boy's losing his taste for the sport." But were you?

JOHN
My actions were not of my own; but thrust upon me...by an irresistible force. Oh, it must've been quite the blow to your ego when you finally learnt the truth.

WATSON
Just that I that I failed to see the clues laid out before me. It was that it was you, John. For God's sake; it was you!

[Watson turns suddenly and points one of the doors.]

WATSON
Veritas iacet. Truth lies.

[Watson turns to the other door.]

WATSON
Latet veritas. Lies truth. Now, the subtle but vital difference is that this epigram translates as "lies buried", as in dead, whereas this, this means "lies at rest", a much more benign expression and thus it follows that we must choose between life and death.

JOHN
That's it? That's your unassailable logic?

WATSON
Gregory and I shared a passion for Latin. It follows that he would hide the clues in the subtleties of the language.

JOHN
So...either a chamber lies beyond that or a perfect chance for you to exact your revenge for my past actions.

[John grabs Watson by the front of his jacket.]

JOHN
Care to reconsider your choice?

[Watson stares defiantly at John. John teleports into the room; and then releases Watson to retrieve a key from a pedestal.]

WATSON
The second key is undoubtedly within the second door or indeed this key may unlock it outright, in which case you might leave me here to die.

JOHN
Yes, I might.

[John walks behind Watson.]

WATSON
Well, why don't you?

JOHN
As I once said, I have lost the taste for the sport.

[John places his hand on Watson’s shoulder and teleports. Once back on the outside of the two doors, the other door opens to reveal a key.]

WATSON
Release the first key, the second is freed as well.

JOHN
Elementary, my dear Watson.

WATSON
Oh, shut up!

INT CABAL BUILDING

DANA
There should be adequate cellular penetration by now.

ASHLEY
What the hell is that supposed to mean?

[Dana nods to a man in the room.]

DANA
You may begin. Cut the power.

[Ashley begins to feel dizzy.]

ASHLEY
I thought you didn't bluff, Dana.

DANA
It has been an absolute pleasure talking with you. I wish we had more time but it's time to say goodbye.

ASHLEY
What did you do to me?

DANA
What we had to. Turns out it actually was as simple as quenching your thirst. And I'm afraid I did lie to you. You're going to die today, Ashley.

INT CAVERNS TESLA ROOM

[Tesla struggles to where Helen is waiting.]

TESLA
Mmmmm.

[Tesla sighs in relief as Helen watches him.]

TESLA
You felt genuine concern for me. Admit it.

HELEN
Nonsense.

TESLA
Oh. You still like me, it's so obvious.

HELEN
You tried to kill me.

TESLA
Yeah, but, you know, we all hurt the ones we love. Your turn.

INT CAVERNS GRIFFIN’S ROOM

WILL
Clara, don't stop.

CLARA
I can't do this, Will.

WILL
You're almost there.

CLARA
This is crazy. I can't do this.

WILL
Focus on the goal. Don't think about anything else. It's just a key. You're doing great.

INT CAVERNS OUTSIDE HELEN’S ROOM

[Helen walks up to a spyglass looking object and pushes some controls. The spyglass extends and Helen looks into it. The door to the room opens.]

HELEN
Not much of a test.

[Helen enters the room.]

TESLA
You're a total daddy's girl.

[The door closes in front of Tesla.]

TESLA
Helen!

HELEN
All right, Father.

[Helen walks up to the pedestal and looks upon symbols around the outside and sand in the middle.]

HELEN
Two by two. All right.

[Helen begins to write in the sand but the room shakes and rocks start to fall.]

INT CAVERNS GRIFFIN’S ROOM

WILL
Keep going! You're doing fine.

CLARA
I've got it!

WILL
OK, come on. We don't have a lot of time. Bring it back.

INT CAVERNS OUTSIDE HELEN’S ROOM

HELEN
Two times two, two plus two, two to the power of two and therefore four. That is too easy.

INT CAVERNS GRIFFIN’S ROOM

CLARA
Will! I can't make it across.

[A large section of the floor has fallen as Clara was unable to keep her whole body invisible. We see her crouched on the collapsing ground.]

WILL
You've gotta jump. Just don't think about it. Jump!

[Clara has stopped in fright.]

WILL
Clara! Come on! Come on! Where are you?

[Will gets yanked out of the room.]

CLARA
Will come on!

INT CAVERNS OUTSIDE HELEN’S ROOM

HELEN
Two by two, two by two; it's not an equation, it's a reference. Noah's ark right? Your favorite metaphor for your work.

HELEN
Right, so what’s the permutations of abnormal life? They're endless; therefore it's infinity, right.

HELEN
Infinity.

[Helen draws the symbol for infinity into the sand. A key appears.]

HELEN
Thank you.

[The door opens.]

TESLA
Nice but I think somebody must've screwed up.

[Tesla and Helen run back toward the main room. Rocks fall from the roof hitting Helen.]

HELEN
Ah! Bloody hell.

INT CAVERNS JOHN AND WATSON’S PASSAGEWAY

[Watson is having trouble keeping up to John. Rocks are falling all over the caverns.]

JOHN
Move your legs, old man.

[John grabs Watson and teleports to the main room just as Will enters in his boxers.]

WILL
Clara! Oh, no, she was right with me.

CLARA
Relax, Will, I'm right here. I asked you not to drop my clothes and look - they're filthy. Nice job, Will.

[Watson and John look on amused.]

JOHN
Interesting.

WATSON
Oh, well done, William.

WILL
Thanks.

JOHN
Where's Helen?

[Helen and Tesla enter the room. Helen looks puzzled over at Will who raises his arms in a I-don’t=know-look. Helen holds up her key and the other hold up theirs.]

HELEN
Well done. Shall we?

[They move to the pedestal and place their keys in the appropriate places.]

WATSON
Where is it?

[A section of the wall opens and a container is inside.]

John
Finally.

[Helen retrieves the blood.]

HELEN
I haven't seen this in a while.

CLARA
Is that it? That's the blood?

TESLA
The power in that vial...it could change history and create any kind of future we choose.

JOHN
We?

TESLA
Don't worry. I'll see this through; antivirus and all.

WATSON
Oh!

[Watson collapses to the floor. His machine has stop and he ages rapidly.]

WILL
Watson!

WATSON
Oh. Oh.

[Helen rushes over to Watson with the others right behind her.]

HELEN
Oh, my God. What happened?

WATSON
Oh, the inevitable, I'm afraid.

HELEN
The suit, it's stopped working.

WATSON
It's been failing for some time. It hasn't really worked since we left the Sanctuary. I knew that this was a mission I would not return from. It was worth one last challenge, Helen. Oh!

[Watson grimaces in pain. He points at Helen.]

WATSON
You, I shall miss.

[Helen is crying and she tries to comfort Watson.]

WATSON
William, William...there... There is something that we are not seeing. This was too easy. There is something else happening, something going on that we're not seeing. You must find the missing piece.

WILL
What? What is it? What's the missing piece?

WATSON
Find it.

[As Watson passes away; the others are saddened.]

INT CABAL BUILDING

[Ashley awakes while she is being wheeled down a hallway on a gurney. She looks up to see a man with a surgical mask and hat on.]

ASHLEY
Ohhh.

[Ashley tries to sit up but the man pushes her down.]

HENRY
Stay down!

[Henry lowers the mask.]

HENRY
Hey hi, it's me. It's Henry. We're almost there. Listen, are you OK? You were out cold when I found you.

[They have reached the end of the hallway and Ashley sits up and stands up.]

ASHLEY
I need a gun.

HENRY
Here.

ASHLEY
Cell phone, awesome.

HENRY
Yeah.

[Henry has given Ashley a gun and her cell phone then he opens a door.]

HENRY
This way.

ASHLEY
What happened to you?

HENRY
I don't want to talk about it. You?

ASHLEY
Me neither. What about the codes for Lazarus?

HENRY
I'm on it. I found a network interface in this lab here.

ASHLEY
Rock star.

[Henry and Ashley enter the lab. Henry goes to a computer.]

ASHLEY
Anything?

HENRY
There's a whole encryption package. Looks like a lot of code. They must control the dispersal of units remotely. I'm gonna download the whole file to a jump drive.

ASHLEY
How long?

[Ashley dials her cell phone.]

HENRY
Just need a couple more seconds.

HELEN [on phone]
Ashley.

ASHLEY
Mom, we're ready for blast off. Trace the cell signal.

HELEN [on phone]
Good, stand by.

HENRY
Come on, come on, come on, okay, I got it.

ASHLEY
Easy peasy, let’s roll.

[Henry and Ashley start to run to the door when armed men come in.]

HENRY
This is so not good, Ash.

ASHLEY
Just give them a few more seconds.

[John appears and teleports all of them back to the lab in the Sanctuary.]

INT SANCTUARY LAB

HELEN
Ashley!

[Helen rushes over to hug her daughter.]

ASHLEY
Hey.

JOHN
That was good timing.

ASHLEY
Thank you.

[Ashley starts to stumble.]

ASHLEY
Crap.

HELEN
Ashley.

[Ashley passes out; John catches her.]

HELEN
Get her to the infirmary.

[John teleports out with Ashley.]

HELEN
What the hell happened to her?

HENRY
I don't know. We were separated a long time.

EXT SANCTUARY ROOF

[Will is standing looking out at the view. Clara comes up to the roof.]

CLARA
So you're supposed to say, "Hey, Clara, you did great. Way to conquer your fears."

WILL
I'm sorry, I'm just...thinking about stuff. You did do great.

CLARA
Thanks for taking off your pants.

WILL
You never have to thank me for that.

CLARA
Wow. I can't believe this place. I...I thought I was a one-off, a freak.

WILL
Clara, why don't you stay here? Just for a while, just to see what it's like to be part of something?

CLARA
Yeah, I... I don't know. Being connected to places and people, it's not really my style.

WILL
Well, that's because neither was accepting of who you are. I think that's going to change.

[Clara steps up to Will and kisses him.]

CLARA
I had to do that. The view is just way too romantic.

WILL
Yeah, I know what you mean.

INT SANCTUARY MEDICAL ROOM

[Helen is checking on Ashley when the door opens and John steps in.]

JOHN
How is she?

HELEN
She's unconscious. Something is wrong her blood pressure's elevated, I need to run more tests.

JOHN
They've done something to her.

HELEN
She'll be all right, John. She's strong.

JOHN
I'd like to stay close, if you don't mind.

HELEN
Of course.

[John starts to leave.]

HELEN
John...thank you.

[John leaves and Helen closes the door as she leaves. Ashley awakens.]

EXT SANCTUARY ROOF

CLARA
What is it, Will?'

WILL
Something Watson said before he died, about it all being too easy, that we'd missed something.

CLARA
We got the blood. Seems like a win to me.

WILL
Yeah but I can't just shake the feeling that he's right, that there's something else going on that we just can't see.

[Will realizes something.]

WILL
I have to talk to Magnus.

INT SANCTUARY LAB

[Helen and Tesla are working on the Source blood. An orange flash draws Helen’s attention. The Source blood is gone.]

HELEN
Nikola!

INT SANCTUARY HENRY WORK AREA

[Henry is working on the computer. He opens the file from the Cabal.]

HENRY
What the...?

[Ghost like apparitions appears on the monitor.]

HENRY
Oh, no.

INT SANCTUARY LAB

HENRY [on monitor]
Doc, the drive we brought back it's all ghost data. There's no codes, no input, nothing we can use. Doc?

[Helen rushes out of room. She enters the library holding a gun on John who is seated in a chair.]

HELEN
Isn't this just like you? Steal what we need the most then stick around to gloat.

JOHN
I have been here the whole time.

[John stands and stares at Helen. Helen lowers the gun as she has an awful thought.]

HELEN
Ashley.

[Helen goes to the computer and calls up the security camera on the medical room. Ashley’s bed is empty.]

WILL
Magnus! Magnus!

[Will and Clara rush into the room.]

WILL
The whole thing was a set-up. Something else is going on.

HELEN
We're too late.

EXT EASTER ISLAND

[Dana walks out from behind a rock and joins Ashley. Ashley hands her the Source blood.]

DANA
Thank you, Ashley. You've been everything we could've hoped for. Welcome to your rebirth.
