History[]
Season 4[]
Episode 4x05 - "Resistance": During the teaser sequence of the episode, SCIU usurps the Captured Abnormal from the Old City Sanctuary team. Later on, according to the GPS data Henry Foss reviews from their hidden tracking beacon, the abnormal was airlifted across the U.S.-Canada border to Holloman Air Force Base which is located just outside of the city of Alamogordo. From there, the abnormal was transported to Area 51 located in the middle of the New Mexican desert. Henry Foss is initially confused as to why the abnormal was taken to the middle of the desert. Helen Magnus explained that the Area 51 (military base) seen on Google maps is a decoy aimed at conspiracy theorist. And that they may have just stumbled upon the fabled abnormal testing facility. ![]() This machine functions by creating a rift field in which energy is drawn from the field itself. Consequently, this interferes with the habitat of a rift creature, allowing it to cross over into their plane of existence. The rift creature begins abducting staff, taking them back to its nest located in a sealed cave pocket underneath the facility, sticking them on a wall with secretions before subsequently eating them. Magnus and Henry sneak into the facility twelve hours after the first appearance of the creature, and get caught. They are taken to the facility director's office in which they meet Tesla. Though he wants to kick them out, he reluctantly needs their help in dealing with the creature. It is deduced that the machine is the cause and must be shut down. The trio then go in search of supplies to accomplish this task, however they run into staff hiding in a small room who need escorted out of the facility. Henry is abducted by the rift creature, in which Tesla volunteers to retrieve him. Right as they return back through the rift portal, the machine is completely shut-down, preventing the creature from being able to access their world anymore. After Magnus and Henry return home to the Old City Sanctuary, they find on Henry's tablet that Tesla secretly gave them several important files about the facility. |
Trivia[]
- Nikola Tesla's position as facility director doesn't last a full year. In Episode 4x12 - "Sanctuary for None, Part I" (around ~January 2012), Nikola Tesla sulkily shows up unannounced at the Old City Sanctuary after having been fired from SCIU after having been caught stealing funds for his own research. In addition to losing his job at Area 51, the government also took possession of all of his projects and designs that he created and built while there using government money.
